How does the Mosquito Trap work?

The In2Care® Mosquito Trap is made of durable plastic and uses water with an odor lure to attract egg-laying Aedes mosquitoes.

Once inside, mosquitoes contact the specially treated gauze near the water surface and get contaminated with a larvicide and a fungus.

Aedes mosquitos like to divide their eggs over multiple sites; by letting them fly out of the Trap while carrying larvicide on their legs, the mosquitos transport the larvicide and contaminate several breeding sites around the Trap.

In this way, we can eliminate larvae in small and hard-to-find breeding sources. The mosquito also gets infected with an insect-specific fungus that terminates the spread of disease.

The In2Care® Mosquito Trap and Green Bee work together to eliminate mosquitos by:

  • Effectively controlling the mosquito that transmits Zika & other diseases.

  • Using green innovation, which means a reduced use of chemicals.

  • Our mosquito control services do not target plants or beneficial insects such as bees or butterflies.

  • Mosquito control services protect your yard against mosquitos 24 hours a day.

  • Using mosquito control products that are pet friendly.

Our Process

Green Bee Lawn Care are experts at backyard mosquito control in Houston. We place In2Care® Mosquito Traps outdoors at a recommended density of 1/400 m2 (10 Traps per acre) and maintain the traps every 4 weeks using refill sachets.

Both our commercial and residential mosquito control customers benefit from the In2Care® Mosquito Traps — particularly in hotspot areas like resorts, hotels, and residential sites.

Aedes mosquitoes are difficult to control as they lay their eggs in very small breeding sites and have become resistant to chemical insecticides. The In2Care® Mosquito Trap attracts and kills Aedes females with novel green ingredients that target both mosquito larvae and adults.

Environmentally Friendly Mosquito Control

Insecticide resistance has become a major problem in countries infested by Aedes mosquitoes. Area-wide insecticide fogging is still being used but is showing limited efficacy and major impacts on non-target organisms. Green Bee provides a more environmentally friendly and effective way to treat mosquitos.

The substance used in the traps can help prevent disease transmission and pose low risks for other animals and insects. The mixture specifically targets mosquitos, and not only treats mosquitos in the moment, but also their larvae to prevent further hatching.
